Hardware is stainless steel which is suitable for exposed, unfinished wood (as well as finished). Wood is 13/16 inches thick.

Red Cedar or Pine? Most Cayuga Designs products are available in both pine and western red cedar. Both woods have their own charm and are equally as durable as the other, but please note that pine should not be left outdoors without first applying a finish (such as Sikkens) for protection, which you can obtain from a local hardware store. Cedar does not require this, but, like most woods, turns a shade of gray when left unfinished. All products from Cayuga Designs are unfinished.

Western red cedar comes in various shades from red to almost white. Any one set may contain a variation of wood colors. Most people consider this a charm of western red cedar; however, for those that would like a single shade, we recommend applying a stain.

Cayuga Designs has a one year warranty on all its products against defects such as chipping and cracking, as well as for replacement parts.
